this is so great though. because if you didn’t know better, you’d think hannibal was the one who cared the most for will. he fakes human concern so very well. and will trusts him, he’s more relaxed in hannibal’s presence than even alana’s. it’s an especially shocking contrast to jack and will, jack who terrifies will, jack who puts the greater good ahead of everything. jack doesn’t care if will’s unstable. alana does care but she’s self aware enough to know getting too involved would be bad for them both. hannibal wades right the fuck in because fuck boundaries and fuck will’s mental health he wants in. and he does it in such a way that if we didn’t know better, it would look like love
